In this adventure, we will discover the secret powers of the island, including spectacular views of the Eyjafjallajökull volcano and the impressive glacier lagoon. Your accommodation in rural areas is ideally located to hunt for the magical Northern Lights.
Day 1 Reykjavik
Arrival to Reykjavik. Arrival transfer from Keflavik international airport to your hotel. The rest of the day / afternoon free. Accommodation.
Day 2 Thingvellir-Geysir-Gullfoss
Breakfast at the hotel. You start the day by visiting the fascinating Center of the Northern Lights in Reykjavik to attend an interesting and informative presentation about the northern lights. After this visit you continue to the Thingvellir National Park (World Heritage Site), where the oldest parliament in the world met for centuries, on the banks of Thingvallavatn, the largest lake in Iceland. It drives through crop areas to reach the geothermal area of Geysir where they are also solfataras and the famous geysir Strokkur, which erupts boiling water every 10 minutes. Finally, the two-level waterfall of Gullfoss is visited, a spectacular visit in winter since a part of the golden waterfall freezes during this time of the year. Dinner. Overnight in the Selfoss region.
Day 3 Southern Coast
Breakfast at the hotel. You continue along the South Coast, one of the beautiful regions of Iceland to visit during the winter. This is one of the main agricultural regions of the country. During the tour you can see some typical Icelandic farms, often with Icelandic horses in the fields. Today you will visit the Friðheimar farm, known for its tomato crops thanks to the existing geothermal energy in the region. You visit two of the spectacular waterfalls in this area, Seljalandsfoss and Skógarfoss. Continuation of our tour through the region where Myrdalsjökull is located, the fourth largest glacier in Iceland until reaching Reynisfjara beach to take a walk along the black sand beach and admire the extraordinary basaltic rock formations and the thunderous waves of the Ocean Atlantic. Dinner. Accommodation in the Kirkjubæjarklaustur region.
Day 4 National Park Skaftafell - Lagoon Glacier Jokulsarlon
Breakfast at the hotel. Today you will visit the region of the Vatnajökull National Park, named after the largest glacier in Europe. This national park is also the largest in Europe. The Skaftafell National Park is a site of great natural beauty, dominated by the Vatnajökull glacier. Continue to the Jokulsarlon glacier lagoon where you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the icebergs that float in the fantastic waters of this lagoon, whose depth is 180 meters. Back to the hotel. Dinner and accommodation.
Day 5 Volcanoes Areas - Hveragerdi - Blue Lagoon - Reykjavik
Breakfast at the hotel. Today you will visit the interesting Lava Center information center, in the town of Hvolsvollur. At Lava Center you will learn important data about volcanic activity in Iceland. After this visit we head towards the town of Hveragerdi, one of the few places in the world located directly at the top of a geothermal area. Hveragerdi is often called "the town of flowers" due to its many heated greenhouses thanks to the geothermal energy in this area. Continue to the Reykjanes peninsula, where you can enjoy a relaxing bath in the famous Blue Lagoon, a unique wonder of nature with warm waters, rich in minerals and located in the middle of an immense lava field. Return to Reykjavik. Overnight.
Day 6 Reykjavik - Departure
Breakfast at your hotel. If you have an early flight, please keep in mind that you might have some very light breakfast. Departure transfer from your hotel to the airport in time for your departure back home. We thank you for using our services and hope that you have enjoyed this tour.
